WSCC Freeway Park NRHP
HRA provided cultural resources services for the proposed Washington State Convention Center (WSCC) expansion project in Seattle. Included in this work were archaeological and architectural survey and inventory; recommendations regarding potential effects and mitigation measures; a comprehensive Programmatic Agreement (PA); an archaeological monitoring and inadvertent discovery plan; rapid response to inadvertent discoveries; and data recovery. Additionally, HRA prepared a National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) nomination and a Seattle Landmarks nomination for the innovative Freeway Park, a green space stretching over multiple lanes of I-5. HRA also prepared a historic context for automobile-related resources in Seattle and conducted a survey and inventory of 120 buildings associated with Seattleās early-twentieth century car culture.
