HRA provided cultural resources services for the proposed Washington State Convention Center (WSCC) expansion project in Seattle. Included in this work were archaeological and architectural survey and inventory; recommendations regarding potential effects and mitigation measures; a comprehensive Programmatic Agreement (PA); an archaeological monitoring and inadvertent discovery plan; rapid response to inadvertent discoveries; and data recovery. Additionally, HRA prepared a National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) nomination and a Seattle Landmarks nomination for the innovative Freeway Park, a green space stretching over multiple lanes of I-5. HRA also prepared a historic context for automobile-related resources in Seattle and conducted a survey and inventory of 120 buildings associated with Seattle’s early-twentieth century car culture.
