MISSOULA DOWNTOWN HERITAGE INTERPRETIVE PLAN
HRA prepared the Missoula Downtown Heritage Interpretive Plan to guide the development of a heritage interpretation program for Missoula, Montana’s historic downtown. The project identified ways to communicate Missoula’s intangible cultural heritage in the face of a rapidly changing urban landscape. As part of the interpretive planning process, HRA conducted extensive outreach to historically underrepresented communities to identify opportunities to share lesser-known stories and to ensure that many voices and perspectives are represented in the plan and that downtown interpretation is inclusive and reflective of the community-at-large. As part of the process, HRA hosted a community open house and conducted informational interviews with dozens of community members, organizational representatives, and project partners.
