Senior Architectural Historian / Interpretive Specialist – Portland Office

Libby earned a MA in history from Portland State University in 2009, where she received a public history endorsement and focused on Western, environmental, and landscape history. During graduate school, she was a Rose Tucker Fellow at the Oregon Historical Society, where she received training in exhibit development and archival work. She then worked as an independent public historian specializing in historic preservation and creative mitigation prior to joining HRA in 2016.

Libby manages projects for a variety of public and private clients in HRA’s Cultural Resources Management Division and History Division. She specializes in interpretive projects, often stemming from compliance-based mitigation. Libby works on a variety of historic preservation and oral history projects, and has completed numerous survey and inventory projects and nominations to the National Register of Historic Places.

Outside of the office, Libby serves on the Oregon Heritage Commission and cherishes family game nights, time alone with a good novel, and fresh air.
