Emily received an MA from University of Chicago in 2008, where she completed a thesis titled “Forgotten by History: Bayard Rustin after the March on Washington.” Her prior experience included work on oral history projects, and a position as a research assistant at the George C. Marshall Foundation, where she helped prepare the first five volumes of the Marshall Papers for digitization and conducted research on the first women to serve in the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps during World War II.
At HRA, Emily researches and writes on projects involving environmental litigation, corporate histories, and Native American history.
When not at work, Emily enjoys being active outdoors, cooking, and watching movies.
