UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON SCHOOL OF NURSING INTERPRETIVE EXHIBITS

HRA created pop-up and online exhibits for the University of Washington (UW) School of Nursing (SON) program’s 100th anniversary. HRA conducted research in UW archival collections to find historical information and images for the exhibits. From this research, historians chose 100 of the program’s most influential alumni to profile in the exhibits. HRA subcontracted with a designer and fabricator to create the physical exhibit and worked with web content specialists at UW to create a microsite within university design constraints.

The physical exhibit debuted at a 100th anniversary celebration and then rotated between partner hospitals that train UW nursing students.

This exhibit demonstrated the deep influence that UW School of Nursing alumni, faculty, and staff have had on the development of the nursing profession, both locally and globally. In conjunction with the development of the exhibit, the School of Nursing solicited nominations from its community to profile influential nurses who are still active in the nursing community today. This connection of past and present resulted in a powerful showing of the institution’s legacy.
