NOANET FIBER OPTIC LINE, NE ROUTE

In 2011, HRA conducted a reconnaissance-level archaeological survey in advance of installation of fiber-optic line for Tierra ROW and NoaNet. HRA archaeologists surveyed and conducted probes in the vicinity of 22 previously recorded archaeological sites and five cemeteries in north-central Washington, generally following SR 20 from Tonasket to east of Colville, including the crossing of the Columbia River at Kettle Falls. HRA also conducted consultation on behalf of NoaNet with the National Park Service and Colville and Spokane Tribes related to potential effects in the Kettle Falls Archaeological District, a National Register of Historic Places-listed historic property. The results of the work were used to ensure avoidance of archaeological resources during construction of the project.
