Janna Tuck is an Archaeologist in our Portland, Oregon office. She joined HRA in 2018 and specializes in analyzing historic-period artifacts. Of her favorite project at HRA, she says: “I felt the happiest (and possibly the coldest) working near the wind-swept hills of Horse Heaven in rural Washington state. Every morning, I would drive out into the valley below the hills excited to find out more about the fascinating and complex systems of historic-period farmsteads and ranches.” She recommends that if anyone is in the area, they should visit the Central Washington Agricultural Museum in Union Gap, Washington, where one of the volunteers “will drive you through the yard and personally describe each and every harrow. Wear all your warmest hats, all of them.”
Celebrating 50 years of HRA in 2024!
