Heather Miller is a Principal Historian and HRA’s Vice President of Business Development, based in our Seattle, Washington office. She joined HRA in 2005, has worked in both the History and Cultural Resources Management Divisions, and previously served as the lead of the Architectural History Program. She notes that HRA projects and marketing events have taken her to thirty-two states, the District of Columbia, and Canada, and she has many fond memories of events in those locations. Her favorite thing about working at HRA is “the constant variety of the work we do. I love the hunt for historical documents and even what sometimes feels like the grunt work of writing reports. Nothing better than seeing the report/book/deliverable get submitted and knowing that I’ve done my best to find exactly what my client was looking for.” She recommends to newer colleagues “Never be afraid to make mistakes and ask questions. Brainstorming with your colleagues, clients, and other experts will make you smarter not make you look dumb (and who cares anyway?).”
Celebrating 50 years of HRA in 2024!
