PREDICTIVE MODEL DEVELOPMENT

HRA has developed numerous archaeological predictive models for federal, state, and private clients. For the Oregon Department of Transportation, we developed four predictive models for a 2,600-square-mile study area in north central Oregon. Two of these models were fairly simple raster intersection maps and two were more statistically complex logistic regression and Bayesian methods. HRA also prepared a raster intersection predictive model for a pipeline project in eastern Montana that was used to direct archaeological surveys outside of the prescribed area of potential effects. HRA has the capabilities to prepare tailor-made small- and large-scale archaeological predictive models in ArcGIS that can be used for resource management and survey guidance.
