Bullitt House Landmarks Nomination

Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) contracted HRA to complete a Seattle Landmarks nomination for the Stimson and Kay Bullitt House at 1125 Harvard Ave. E in Seattle. The building, constructed in 1955, was a large A-frame designed by Fred Bassetti for a significant Seattle family and then deeded to SPR after Kay Bullitt, the original owner, died. In order to develop the house and its associated yard for use as a public facility, Seattle Parks sought to determine whether it qualified as a Seattle City Landmark. After in-depth archival research, field survey, public outreach, and interviews, HRA prepared a Landmarks nomination for the building, which was listed in 2023.
