NISQUALLY STATE PARK INTERPRETIVE PLAN

The Nisqually Indian Tribe contracted with HRA to produce an interpretive plan for Nisqually State Park located near Eatonville, Washington. The interpretive plan presents the vision for a comprehensive interpretive program at the state park and emphasizes presenting Nisqually community voices throughout park interpretation. HRA’s interpretive planners conducted numerous site visits to the park and the Nisqually Reservation, where they facilitated interpretive planning sessions and scoping meetings to obtain Tribal government and community input on future interpretation and visitor experiences at the park. The interpretive plan will guide all aspects of interpretation at the newly developed state park over the coming decade and will provide an important resource for Tribal collaboration with Washington State Parks. HRA is now working with the Tribe, State Parks, and a design firm to develop a series of onsite interpretive panels at the park.
