Today is Ian Smith’s twentieth anniversary at HRA! Ian joined HRA as a Research Historian in 2000. Since then, he has risen steadily through the ranks, becoming a shareholder and the manager of HRA’s History Division. In addition to being a great colleague, Ian is a trusted and successful historical expert witness, focusing on water rights and Native American reservation issues for tribal, government, and private clients. Ian excels at conducting in-depth research and synthesizing large volumes of historical information into clear, persuasive narrative. When he isn’t working as a historian, Ian can be found adventuring with his family and playing in local bands. We hope he’ll have another 20 years at HRA.
