BADGER PASS SKI AREA

HRA contributed to an Environmental Assessment (EA) for rehabilitation of a historic-period ski area in Yosemite National Park. The Badger Pass Ski Area was the first downhill skiing resort to be developed in California, and rehabilitation of the buildings needed to take into account the historical aspects of the lodge and the surrounding landscape. HRA’s Senior Architectural Historian and a Landscape Architectural Historian compiled previous information, viewed the resources in light of their historical context, and evaluated potential environmental consequences of four proposed alternatives.
