HISTORIAN / INTERPRETIVE SPECIALIST – MISSOULA OFFICE

Since joining HRA in 2015, Kayla Blackman has conducted extensive research on projects dealing with natural resource management, land use, and environmental contamination. She completed her Master’s degree at the University of Montana, where she focused on the history of medicine, sexuality, and law. She has experience in designing traveling exhibits and large-scale digital history projects. Her research expertise includes extensive familiarity with state and local archives, congressional documents, and newspaper research. At HRA, she researches and writes narratives for public history efforts, as well as provides support for litigation.
