Digital History

HRA, in partnership with the University of West Florida, has created one of the most innovative and comprehensive heritage tourism apps on the market—Next Exit History™. This mobile app is optimized for iOS7 and Android devices, and can be downloaded for free from the iTunes App Store or Google Play.

Unlike apps that are geared toward one organization or one region of the country, Next Exit History is international in scope and is the only heritage tourism app that you’ll ever need. In addition, Next Exit History offers a unique “backpack” feature that allows you to download content to your mobile device and access that content without Wi-Fi or 4G connectivity.

Mobile devices offer a unique opportunity to promote history and tourism, engaging visitors in a wider array of media formats than traditional two-dimension signage or exhibits.

HRA historians understand the value of quality, compelling content. We offer a number of packages, from utilizing HRA’s staff of professional historians to complete all research and content development to assisting clients with drafting their own content that we’ll review and upload to the Next Exit History database. So, whether you are a historic trail organization looking to educate and inform the public or an agency or corporation needing to satisfy regulatory requirements for education and interpretation, we have a package to fit your needs and budget.
